Safety equipment for doors

In addition to the high quality of the materials used in its manufacture, a door must have elements that strengthen the security of the goods and people inside a residential or business building.

Today’s technology allows us to manufacture stainless steel mesh doors and windows with aluminum profiles that -in addition to complying with the highest standards of quality and safety- give elegance and style to the building.

But in order to ensure a greater degree of security, when installing a door or a window it is necessary to add some implements to them such as:

  • The lock: We recommended locks that, other than having a two locking points, have at least additional features such as anti-drill, anti-lever, anti-gouge and antibumping.
  • Types of lock: For front doors there are three main types: 1) overlapping lock (it is intended to be placed on the inner surface of the door without having to adapt it to the existing hole) and 2) multipoint lock (simultaneously actuate several closing points).
  • The cylinder: The cylinder must be a high quality one since it is crucial to guarantee the safety offered by the lock.
  • The cam: The mechanism that drives the pins. There are long and short ones.
  • The key: It is an implement that influences the security of the lock and, by extension, the door’s. There are flat, with dots, with teeth -these have a profile that moves the teeth in which pins fit- and flat safe keys with two levels of teeth, each one operates a different plate of the lock.
  • The locks: They are placed on the surface of the leaf and the fence and they are operated from the inside.

Also, there are other accessories that increase the security of the doors, such as chains, bars, retainers, safety shields for cylinders, and hinge reinforcements.

As a complement, when it comes to reinforcing the security of a common door, the installation of a peephole is recommended. But a peephole is unnecessary since the steel mesh doors Fuertec offers allow a clear and total view of what happens on the outside, while blocking others see inside the building.

Our Fuertec screens add value to your residence, office and institutional, industrial, commercial or any other type of buildings, but, above all, they provide security. They are attached to the wall or frame, with an anchoring system with a capacity to withstand 1000 pounds of pressure per square foot.
